Installation & Application（安装应用） NKP-TEL-5C-3 Triple Protection Surge Protector for Network Cameras integrates a surge protector for network video signals, control signals, and AC/DC power into a single unit, making it a next-generation multi-functional combined surge protection product for cameras, surveillance systems, and video equipment.
The input terminal of the NKP-TEL-5C-3 surge protector should be connected to external wiring susceptible to lightning induction, while the output terminal should be connected to the protected equipment. During installation, a reliable grounding connection is essential to provide a proper discharge path for the surge protection components. Additionally, the surge protection grounding must be kept separate from the building's lightning protection grounding to prevent ground potential counterstrikes.
Precautions for Surge Protector Installation
1、The surge protector is connected in series between the protected equipment and the signal channel.
2、The input terminal (IN) of the surge protector should be connected to the signal channel, while the output terminal (OUT) should be connected to the protected equipment and installed as close as possible to it. The connections must not be reversed.
3、Securely connect the surge protector’s grounding wire to the lightning protection system’s grounding bar. The grounding wire should be as short as possible and must not exceed 1 meter in length.
4、This product does not require special maintenance. However, regular inspections of the surge protector should be conducted, especially before and during the thunderstorm season.
5、If a system malfunction is suspected to be caused by the surge protector, first check the corresponding failure indicator light. Alternatively, bypass the surge protector and reconnect the system. If the indicator light does not illuminate or the system returns to normal after removing the surge protector, it indicates that the surge protector is damaged and must be repaired or replaced immediately.
